Mechanical Properties of ASTM A572 Grades 50 and 60 Steels at High Temperatures

Studies involving the mechanical properties of high-strength steel (HSS) at elevated temperatures have received considerable attention in recent years. However, current research on HSS high is lacking. As a result, design fire-protective structures with standards not sufficiently conservative or safe. This study investigates effect that ASTM A572 Gr. 50 and 60 steels. Reduction factors for yield strength, tensile elastic modulus were derived compared standard (AISC, EN1993-1-2) previous studies (NIST). also provides extensive data reduction mild (MS), HSS, very-high-strength (VHSS). The factor strength was analyzed by expanding strain level up to 20%. Equations proposed. In future studies, various strains should be according grade steel, derivation considers plastic steel. Hence, findings reported this generated database can applied fire safety performance-based fire-resistant design.
